Driving to Amarillo today we had a lot of rain and wind. The NOAA information for the area we were traveling in was 35 MPH with gusts of 45 MPH. But we seem to have come out on the other side and it is was sunny this afternoon and is supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow.
Paul decided he wanted to come to Amarillo so that we could drive part of the historic Route 66. We have already done that. The road into the campsite is part of the old route. Perhaps we'll explore more tomorrow while we are here.
This is the first campsite we have been in where there is a patch of artificial grass at the campsite. I guess it cuts down on the mowing :-)
