Farewell To Our Travelling Companion

We said good-bye to our traveling companion, Don, today. He has stayed behind in the Phoenix area to play golf, visit with friends and stay warm. We may hook up with him later in our journey as we head home after spring training.

We have moved south and east to higher ground where it is noticeably cooler. The vegetation has also changed, we still see cactus but different ones.

When we were in Phoenix we were close to a very busy airport where there was a private plane landing every 20 - 30 seconds. To the north of us there were balloons flying. This picture I got from between Don's motorhome and our trailer.

There was a group of planes the flew in-formation and flew over quite often.

The airport did cause some problems for us, the alarm system in the truck had problems disengaging. We thought it was a problem with the battery in the remote. Once I got the truck started today we did not stop it until the trailer was parked. We then went out and bought new batteries. Before I put the new ones in I checked the remotes and they worked just fine. We have put new batteries away for now.

Here is one of the cacti from before we started to climb (we are now about 3,500 feet now).

Here is a picture of our campsite tonight.

Tomorrow we are headed to Tombstone where the Gunfight at the OK Corral took place and then we will head east and south across New Mexico and Texas.
