Today we drove around to a couple of sights in the area. Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse.
Crazy Horse is still under construction and will very large when it is finished. The completed structure will depict Crazy Horse on his horse pointing over the horse's head. His face can be seen and his arm is the flat part. The hole is the start of the gap between his arm and the horse. His head is 87 feet high and the arm is 263 feet long.
At Crazy Horse they have an "Indian Museum of North America" with artifacts from many nations including the north BC coast. The museum has a cultural centre that hosts Native American artists who are selling their crafts.
They also had a native dance display.
I took a series of pictures and ran them through my digital darkroom and came up with this image where I was again trying to capture the movement. He was moving very fast, the 5 images were taken in less than a second.
We also stopped at Mt Rushmore. It was much more sedate there. There was some sort of ceremony going on - It may have been a citizenship ceremony. Beneath the heads at ground level there is an amphitheater and a grand entrance walkway up to the viewing area.
