Last night we were at Twin Lakes Campground and Marina in Washington North Carolina (the have a sign in town that says "Welcome to the Original Washington"). It was a very large campground and it has lakes and water channels. We caught them during their winter season where the office is closed on Sunday and Monday. We are expecting a call tomorrow to find out how much it cost us to stay there. I think we were the only over-nighters that were there last night.
Tonight we are at The Refuge On Roanoke Island. It is a small campsite with a lake and boardwalks over the swamp. We are one of 4 groups that are staying here tonight. This area was hit hard by Hurricane Irene last August. The whole campsite was flooded with 26 inches of water (which means the water was about 5 feet higher than it is now). There are a number of sites that are leased on a yearly basis and those sites have wood patios and stairs to the trailers etc. All of that was washed away into the lake and swamp along with all of the picnic tables.
I must have done something right because the batteries are now charging properly. The RV repair place we called on Saturday morning to check the charging system finally phoned this morning (Monday - their ad says 24/7) - not much help.
