Leaving Palm Desert we passed a spot on the highway that was sea level. Then we climbed into mountains that were desert. Over 1,000 feet but still desert. There were some fascinating rock formations where it looked like a giant kid stacked up a bunch of rocks.
The road is very straight. Every now and then they throw in a corner and say slow to 70. Since the speed limit for trucks with trailers is 55, it made no difference to us.
Saw lots of cacti. And driving through Quartsite we saw lots of RVs dry camping all around. Pick you piece of desert.
We arrived at Desert's Edge RV here in Phoenix. Just a short stay this time (we'll be back late in March for a couple of ball games).
